Sad Trombone(cino)

Behold the savage chomping done to the last big green squash on my tromboncino plant. I have no hard evidence that would hold up in court, but I strongly suspect raccoons have made a meal of this one. It's been gnawed in half, moved from its original location, and a great deal of it has been consumed. Well, I hope they enjoyed their rambunctious feast.

I decided it was time to shut down production of the tromboncino factory at this point. The final tan one is the biggest of them all, and the other two will go with whatever I'm making for dinner the next few days.

It was a fun time getting to know you, tromboncino squash, and we'll meet up again next year, but maybe I'll only plant one or two next time, because you are pro-frickin-lific.

Those of you who requested seeds, I'll save some when I cut up the big ones, and I'll be in touch!

  1. Dang Racoons! Glad you got to enjoy some of them. And so nice of you to provide a nice meal for the critters.
